Anne Arundel County Public Schools (AACPS) has recently announced approval of the federal grant for the construction of the Meade High School modernization.
Having been in the works since 2015, SEI staff executed a series of planning and design exercises in support of AACPS’ pursuit of Federal Department of Defense funding to upgrade the existing outdated 344,370 SF school constructed in 1974. In anticipation of the construction grant, SEI received approval of the design plans for the project in November 2019.
The project is estimated to be completed by the fall of 2023 and will consist of a 370,734 SF renovation / addition that meets the needs of Fort Meade and AACPS students, addresses the facility’s scale, and offers flexible opportunities for 21 st century learning for 2,538 students.
“This project will result in a state-of-the-art facility of which we can all be superbly proud of and will further our partnership with the outstanding men and women of Fort Meade and its surrounding community,” said Dr. Arlotto, AACPS Superintendent.
