Dr. Samuel A. Mudd Elementary School Receives Learning By Design Outstanding Project Award

SEI Architect’s Dr. Samuel A. Mudd Elementary School modernization and expansion project has received an Outstanding Project Award from Learning By Design 2020 Educational Architecture and Interior Design Awards of Excellence. To receive this award, the project was judged by four education architectural design experts that look for in each project to meet or exceed six important criteria of: Innovation, Community Needs, Interior Design, Sustainability, Functional Design, and 21 st Century Learning.

The jury noted that “The use of learning “neighborhoods” is an effective best practice and the execution of LEED Gold standard is impressive, as well as the innovative inclusion of the outdoor science lab and the other non-standard sustainable moves. The learning neighborhoods are developed with collaboration areas that are physically and visually connected with the classrooms and are useful as extended learning environments.”
